It's like a panamera and cayenne had a baby. I don't like it.

"McDonald's new $62 porterhouse."
Er, quite the opposite, I'd say it's more like "Ruth Chris' new $20 sirloin".

i dont like it...if i was going to buy an a porsche SUV it would be the cayenne with a manual transmission

I would rock a 2nd gen Cayenne V6 with the manny.
![]() 09/25/2013 at 18:47 |

yes me neither, and you dont have the space of a cayenne

It'll make Porsche megabucks, and looks OK in my eyes. They'll need volume as the profit per car which be much lower than the rest of the range.
It's a pity that Porsche, like Jaguar, aren't making a smaller, affordable saloon or even a small sports car. Trouble is the mini-SUV market is vast so they'd be silly not to chase after it

Nice Tiguan.
No seriously, since VW owns Audi owns Posrche, it's still just a Tiguan with a nicer interior and better chassis tuning.
Any way you slice it, you're still going to pay out the ass for parts and service. I'll pass.

Sell this so they can keep making the boxer, cayman, 911 and crazy stuff like the 918? Not a problem with it.

well, Q5.
Tiguan rides on a modified version of the Golf platform.
Macan uses the Q5 platform, which uses the MLB platform that debuted on the A5.

i think the Q5 looks better than this porsche, still these are types of cars I would never buy.

It's all still a Beetle when you peel the layers back far enough.

Normally, I wouldn't consider them either, but my wife likes the Tiguan. So we may look at them when it's time to replace her car next year.
I'm gunning for a Forester instead. Though I'd rather have a previous generation Legacy Outback. She thinks wagons are too long, and don't look right. Sigh...

Porsche needsd another suv, like I need a second asshole. Although that could make shitting easier......

So they call it the Macan in the title, but Cajun in the copy. WHICH IS IT, DAMNIT?!

Maybe a Mazda CX-5? That's what I am currently trying to steer the wife towards.
Available with three pedals too!

The MLB architecture was designed for the ground up by Audi and up to this point was used only on Audi vehicles.
It's okay you know, some times you have to nut up and admit you were incorrect.

I have nothing against crossovers, and think it looks pretty damn nice. I'm not spending my own money on it, but I won't judge anyone that does.

...starting at $45,000
Plus:
Wheels ($8000)
Seats ($6500)
Porsche badge in the headrests ($400)
Oh wait, you want the stitched, not embossed logo? ($800)
Paint in some color besides silver ($2000)
Some other minor options you think would be cool ($26,000)
Next thing you know, you have a $120,000 Audi Q5.

Hmm... Had forgotten about that one.
Can you still get 3-pedals and some toys, or are they still punishing people for rowing their own gears?

coughbeetlecough
I was actually thinking I had better check my facts before I posted the bit about the Tiguan. But, then I figured someone would correct me if I was wrong.
No worries.

I haven't looked into them closely enough to know, but I think that there is some level of punishment involved in getting it with three pedals. Not sure just how much punishment, though...

It's ugly. The base price is a scam. They won't be able to build them fast enough.

Just did a quick build.
Base model only, FWD Only.
As soon as you select AWD, it's 6-speed Auto for you!
Dear Mazda, et al,
I want to row my own gears and still have nice things like leather, a moonroof, power seats, an upgraded stereo; you know toys. Go Fuck a Camel.
I'll find a car that lets me have everything that I want, even if I have to build the damn thing myself.
Fuck You Again.

Would have been cool as an AWD, rough-road ready coupe.
As a 5-door it is just a less practical Cayenne based on a less practical Q5. An answer without a question, but brand-prestige seekers with little technical specificity will probably still buy it.
It isn't as if Cayenne is the largest CUV on the market, as is, that there needed to be a smaller version.
